This lot brings together close to 3,000 mint issues spanning the New York, Geneva, and Vienna offices of the United Nations, all neatly organized in a Showgard stock book. Collectors will find a wide range of modern UN issues to work through, while accumulators will appreciate the sheer volume and variety packed into one lot. Some duplication is present, largely due to the inclusion of singles, pairs, blocks, and complete sheets throughout the selection.
A quick look at the modern Swiss sheets alone tells part of the story. These sheets of twenty stamps often carry face values over 1 franc each, and when the combined postal face value across the U.S. dollar, Swiss franc, and Euro denominations is considered, the total could easily reach several hundred dollars, possibly more. The original acquisition cost of this material would have been considerable. All stamps are very fine, original gum, never hinged.
