Description
This substantial Germany lot spans four volumes - two albums and two stock books - packed with several thousand mint and used issues primarily from the middle of the 20th century. The bulk of the material is post-World War II Bund, with one full volume dedicated to the German Democratic Republic, giving the lot meaningful depth across two distinct and actively collected chapters of German philately.
Duplication runs at generally moderate levels throughout, seldom spiking above half a dozen copies of any single issue. That level of controlled duplication is actually a practical advantage here - enough depth to bolster an existing portfolio across multiple sections, with sufficient quantity remaining to yield a couple of solid Bund sublots with genuine individual resale appeal. The four-volume format keeps everything organized and ready to work with right away.
Condition is generally Very Fine throughout, with mint stamps showing original gum. For the general collector, several thousand midcentury Germany issues across Bund and GDR in a single acquisition is an exceptional opportunity to strengthen a German collection across two distinct eras at once. For the dealer or accumulator, the moderate duplication levels and clean organization make this a working lot with solid breakdown potential across some of the most actively traded material in all of European philately. A sample selection was photographed to illustrate the general standard and organization within.
