Description
GERMANY & AREA – MASSIVE COLLECTION IN A PAIR OF MINKUS ALBUMS – Few Thousand Different – Here is a very attractive and expansive collection of a few thousand different issues covering expanded philatelic Germania from individual states to late 20th century fall of Berlin Wall and reunification, presented in a pair of Minkus albums. The collection is anchored by a densely populated Germany proper volume featuring a solid states section, becoming really densely populated with philatelic gems once it flows into the early imperial portion of just unified Germany.
The Germany proper section is comprehensively populated into the late stages of the Third Reich era and even up to the Post Horn and Numeral set, while the second half of the 20th century is much spottier. The second volume is allocated to the myriad of subsections that fall under the broad umbrella of German Area, including post WWII occupations, German Offices, colonial possessions, DDR, and more. This represents a nice resource for collectors looking to strengthen a Germania portfolio along a number of different lines and for dealers seeking organized breakdown potential across multiple German collecting areas. Condition throughout is generally Very Fine, mint original gum. Note that only a sample selection highlighting key sections has been photographed as a small preview of this philatelic behemoth.
