This is a genuinely one-of-a-kind lot. Fourteen pounds of worldwide stamps organized across what must be several thousand individual glassines and baggies, each one catalogued individually by the previous owner, adding up to a total Scott Catalogue value of $45,000. You simply do not come across a lot assembled with this kind of care and detail very often.
The country coverage is exceptional. Some countries are packaged in zip bags with total catalog values marked on the outside, including France at $4,994, Austria at $2,044, Russia at $1,509, Spain at $1,501, and Great Britain at $384. Sweden, Mexico, Brazil, and Belgium each come in at $600 or more. A single baggie of US stamps is included with a wide variety of material, notably with back-of-the-book stamps mixed in. The large majority of stamps are used, but mint material turns up throughout. Duplication is generally light, though some glassines do contain multiples of the same stamp.
For the general collector, the individual cataloguing alone saves an enormous amount of work and makes this lot immediately usable across dozens of countries.
