Description
UNITED STATES – MINT & USED COLLECTION IN SCOTT SPECIALTY ALBUM – Close to two thousand different issues trace American philately from deep in the 19th century through the last decade of the 20th in a pristine Scott Specialty album. The 19th century portion delivers a solid showing of classics, with several examples featuring noteworthy wide margins and above Very Fine centering, some accompanied by authenticity certificates. The modern portion is virtually all mint and highly complete, with straightforward postal face value quickly adding up to over $400.
The combination of certified early classics, wide margin highlights, and a virtually complete modern mint holding make this a well-rounded acquisition for the collector looking to inherit a strong foundation across nearly the full span of American philately, while the face value content and certificate-backed early material give the dealer or accumulator identifiable value anchors at both ends of the chronological spectrum. Condition throughout is generally Very Fine, mint original gum. Note that photos cover the front portion through 1940 and a small section of the modern terminus, as the middle portion is virtually all mint and highly complete.
