Description
UNITED STATES – EXPANSIVE LIFETIME COLLECTION IN 4 LARGE CARTONS – This is a massive collection with over a dozen volumes at its core primarily focused on the second half of the 20th century! One of the largest subsections within is an expansive collection of thousands of precancels running from the 1940s on one end and then right up to the turn of the 21st century. Mixed into the sea of precancels, one will also find roughly $400 in straightforward postage, mostly from the 1990s.
Furthermore, the collection includes quite a few side quests like Rattlesnake Island stamps, or highly desirable French Red Cross booklets from the 1960s and 70s!
Roughly half of the lot is allocated to first day covers; a couple thousand in total covering roughly the same time period as the precancels. Taken altogether, the lot would be a nice resource for collectors with broad ranging interests in modern American philately! Gen. VERY FINE, mint og, some NH (We only photographed the lot while repacking to better illustrate the scope and organization within)
