POLAND – PHILATELIC MOUNTAIN OF HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS IN 14 LARGE CARTONS – 500,000+ Stamps – This is an absolutely humongous lot of well over half a million mint and used stamps primarily from the mid-century to 1980s, contained in 14 large cartons totaling 82 red boxes neatly stacked with hundreds of Scott numbered glassines, each filled with dozens of copies. While the lot is dominated by CTO stamps, numerous mint issues from the more modern portion appear throughout, and roughly 8%-10% of the lot features some signs of water damage that should be factored into evaluation.
The lot is tailor made for breakdown and resale, especially since it is very neatly organized in catalog order, making systematic processing straightforward for dealers seeking massive volume Polish inventory with pre-sorted organization. This makes the lot particularly attractive to high-volume dealers and accumulators looking for substantial Polish material with built-in organization despite condition caveats.
