Description
This lot delivers an impressive depth of Germany material across stamps, booklets, covers, and postal stationery, all organized across six albums with enough variety to satisfy collectors and accumulators alike.
Three large Germany albums contain approximately 65 double-sided plastic pages filled with first day covers, mint stamps, souvenir sheets, postal cards, and more. The material is primarily from the late 1980s, with joint issues representing the only non-Germany stamps noted throughout. Three smaller SAFE albums with clear plastic pocket pages add considerable depth to the lot. One album alone contains 200 to 300 mint complete booklets from Germany, with the castle type booklets - Scott 1231a through 1231d - carrying a Scott value of $650 or more. Duplication runs heavy in this album, making it particularly useful for dealers or accumulators building stock. The remaining SAFE albums contain additional Germany stamps, complete booklets, first day covers, postal cards, and panels, with some Ireland and Lithuania material mixed in. Five sets of Lithuania Scott 375 through 378 appear in quantities of 80 total sets, carrying a Scott value of $128 on their own.
For the general collector, the breadth of Germany material across multiple formats makes this a lot worth serious consideration. For the accumulator or dealer, the booklet quantities and Lithuania sets alone represent strong catalog value. At 42 total pounds, this lot delivers far more than its weight suggests, with six organized albums packed with stamps, booklets, covers, and stationery that would take considerable time and effort to replicate piece by piece.
