This 32-pound lot brings together two immaculately kept collections and a bonus Canada album, led by a five-volume German Democratic Republic collection and a nearly complete Saar collection, both housed in clear plastic page protectors with stamps neatly mounted on album pages.
The GDR collection spans four albums covering 1949 to 1990, Scott 48 through 2867, with both mint and canceled stamps throughout. A fifth album adds Semi-Postals, Airmails, and Officials, along with several pages of Russian Occupation of German States material. The Saar collection occupies a single album ranging from 1920 to 1959, mostly mint with about 20% used, and is nearly complete with only 10 to 15 missing stamps noted throughout. Semi-Postals, Airmails, and Officials are included here as well, along with some partial and full sheets in the back of the album. The condition and completeness of both collections is genuinely impressive and reflects the care of a serious collector.
The lot also includes a large Canada album with pages printed on green card stock, ranging from 1851 to 1996. The Canada collection is just getting started with very few stamps present, but the album itself is a solid framework ready to be built upon. For the general collector, the GDR and Saar material alone represent years of careful work.
