Description
FRANCE – Solid mint and used collection of close to two thousand different issues tracing French postal stamps from the very dawn of philately and into the late stages of the 20th century on the opposite terminus presented in a Minkus album. The collection includes a densely populated early period section showcasing Napoleon III and Marianne images among others, with such noteworthy standouts like used #3, 11, 12, 12a, 19, 22-28, 31, 41, 44, 96, 133-137, B11, and numerous others! As the collection inches toward mid-century the ratio of mint material goes up, however, the collection is mint/used to some extent all the way into modernity. Well balanced collection with regular and back-of-the-book portion nicely represented in chronological order side by side (Minkus style). Gen. VERY FINE, mint og (we photographed the collection to 1960s, roughly 1/3 of the album)
