Description
CHINA – Mint and Used Collection, Over 1,000 Different – Here is an attractive CHINA collection offering over a thousand different mint and used issues combining early period Chinese classics with material running into the 1970s, showcasing both People's Republic and Taiwan stamps with comprehensively populated mid-century and third quarter of the 1900s sections, presented in a Minkus album. Both the PRC and Taiwan sections include particularly well-filled mid-century portions, though in the case of PRC most of the earliest sets are reprints, a detail that should be factored into evaluation but doesn't diminish the lot's value as a comprehensive reference collection.
The dual coverage of both People's Republic and Taiwan makes this lot equally attractive to the collector looking to strengthen a Chinese portfolio across the full century-long axis from imperial classics through the Cold War era and to the dealer or accumulator seeking material that appeals to two distinct specialist markets (PRC and ROC collectors) from a single acquisition. The Minkus album presentation provides organized housing that can be kept intact or serve as a foundation for further development. Condition throughout is generally Very Fine, mint original gum. Note that only a sample selection of the most densely populated sections has been photographed, as the lot is fragmented, and prospective buyers are encouraged to factor the full scope of the album into their evaluation.
